"As the USA’s civil space program, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration aims to “explore, discover, and expand knowledge for the benefit of humanity”. As a professional, diverse organization with extensive knowledge and experience in space exploration, NASA deserves a branding that reflects their productivity, expertise, and goals to learn, develop new technology, and educate.

At the core of the design system is the circular motif. We see circles in the shape of celestial objects, but also in the orbital paths taken by them and our own spacecrafts. On a more conceptual note, circles are associated with collaboration, continuity, and completion, and NASA’s values of unity and progression are closely related to this.

Through describing specifications and showcasing application, this documentation shall outline the design system that has been established to best represent NASA as the ambitious and accomplished organization it is."
