This assignment was to increase the density of a small, planned neighborhood initially zoned for detached housing. Aspects emphasized to be considered include solar orientation, the topography of the site, the views, and access to both dwellings from the street. My idea of two typical rectangular homes pushing into each other manifested as a very volumetric design. Section views reveal the slight overlapping of each residence, though privacy is entirely maintained.
