chinatown library, 2021
This project was a proposal for a new branch of the Boston Public Library in Chinatown. The design is fundamentally two towers separating public and private spaces, bridged by the main reading area with glass walls all around. The circular motifs of the building not only aid in circulation but paint the library as a friendly space that brings people together. Beyond the book collections, there is a lecture hall, a cafe, a loading dock, employee spaces, and a green roof with seating space.
